I’ve always loved this quote. I read the books … must be thirty years ago, now. And this one sticks with me. It’s said by one of the great characters of all time (Gandalf! Gandalf!) and it just says to me, in such a simple earnest way, you are not master of tomorrow. And yet, there is the promise of and yearning for adventure.
